Hurst Franklin & Co Boxed Sterling Silver Holy Communion Set Vintage London 1967

Alan & Sue Tucker

This is a lovely sterling silver travelling Holy Communion set. It's in good condition overall, the silver shines up well still all over and looks like never or hardly been used. It's of traditional form and is a travelling communion / pyx set. The top compartment retains original gilding and would've been used to keep wafers in. The second compartment would have contained a glass vessel for oil - the original stopper is present. The front of the piece has not been engraved so a blank canvas for the new owner. The top has been decorated with an ecclesiastical cross and there are also two cabled bands and two original loops. The silver is fully hallmarked for London, 1963 and the maker Hurst, Franklin & Co. It comes presented in the original fitted purple lined case which is also in good order. A truly lovely item of ecclesiastical history ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!

Dimensions 9.5 cm or 3.75, diameter 4.5 cm or 1.75 inches.
