This Second Impression was published by Hogarth Press in 1939. considering its age. The oatmeal cloth boards are in good condition , with some minor fading in areas from sunlight damage , also looks like there has been a badge that was added later date and then also been removed at a previous time The text block on the spine is clean and the vibrant crimson but has faded. There is the merest hint of offsetting to the end papers.  On the the very first page it seems to have an inscription signed by Sally Bowles one of the people mentioned in and throughout the book and then 2 pages in its printed and it Reads To John and Beatrix Lehmann . this book also contains Six loosely interconnected character sketches that tell the story of the people Isherwood knew in Berlin prior to the rise of Hitler , as stated one of them being Sally Bowles.
