This George I Crown is actually an 18th Century Forgery which actually makes it much rarer and more collectable than the real thing. Dated 1718 during this time counterfeiting of coins was classed as High Treason, men convicted of counterfeiting were hung, drawn and quartered whilst women were burnt at the stake.
