Framed English Watercolour Painting On Opalescent Glass Mount Antique c1840.

Sonia Cashman

A beautifully painted Victorian watercolour of a young lady named Isabella Marston. It is painted onto an opalescent glass mount and is lovely quality. There is a hand written notice on the reverse from the son of the lady in the painting, H.J.Marston. He confirms the young lady's name, who, when and where she was wed. There is also an older piece of writing which is slightly harder to make out but we believe it too tells us a little about the identity of the young lady who has been so lovingly captured in this fine portrait. Both pieces of writing are a nice touch and helps us to put a name to the pretty young face in the picture.
