Antique Early 20th Century Top Quality Sugar Sifter or Shaker in Sterling Silver, a handsome piece boasting a facet reed patterned body and foot finished with a removable pierced lid in with stylised Moroccan overtones.
Marked to the body for Birmingham assay office circa 1911 with the makers mark for Henry Matthews of Vittoria Street, Birmingham, the Sifter weighs 93.1 grams or 2.99 ounces troy and .stands 17 cm tall or 6.8 inches and has a maximum diameter to the body of 6.5 cm or 2.6 inches.
In Good Antique Condition throughout with there being only one small bruise to the pierced lid on one side it makes for a fabulous collectible piece of sterling table wear, still perfectly useable, would also serve well as a sander for writing and calligraphy purposes.
