Enamel & Diamond Pansy Flower 18k Gold Brooch Pin Antique Victorian c1890 by Child & Child.
'You occupy my thoughts', this is a fabulous enamel pansy flower brooch pin dating from the late Victorian period in its original jewellery box by Childs & Child. During the Victorian period the language of flowers was very important & was often used as inspiration in jewellery.
The 18ct yellow gold has been tested as there are no gold marks. To the centre of the flower you find a real diamond which has been tested. Guilloche enamel to all the petals except 2 which even though the same purple colour may have been restored please see the pictures. Good secure clasp & pin. Being sold in its original box, you can tell the brooch belongs in this box due to the indents in the velvet allowing it to sit flat in the box. The silk is marked with the makers details Child & Child. Generally the interior is in good order. Good push button catch, the box shuts securely. The exterior is green leather which has a small amount of wear as expected from its age.
