Rare never seen before by us opening egg in an egg cup pendant or charm in 9ct yellow gold with full English hallmark for the year 1967. The egg opens to reveal a crowned animal which to me looks like a beaver, please see the pictures to judge for yourself.
During the 1960's & 70's charms were very popular as they were affordable. Again today these little works of art have become collectable being worn traditionally as a charm or with a modern twist as a pendant from a necklace.
The English gold hallmark can be found to the side of the cup near the rear, this is where you see the lion head mark for the London assay office along with the date letter for the year 1967. Good hinge to open & the egg shuts securely. As stated above a crowned animal can be found to the inside.
Size including bale 2.7 x 1.3 x 1.0 cm or 1.0 x 0.5 x 0.4 inches.
Weight 4.9 grams or 3.0 penny weight.
