Chunky Graduating Sterling Silver Albert Watch Chain Antique Victorian English 1900.
Fantastic wide graduating sterling silver albert watch chain which is long enough to be converted into a chain choker necklace in a curb link dating from the late Victorian period. The T bar pendant has the date letter 'a' for the year 1900, the year before Queen Victorian died.
The last link of the chain appears to have the assay office & date letter but both marks are to rubbed to be read, the links of the chain have the silver lion mark but again some of the marks are worn & are no longer visible. The T bar pendant is where you find the date letter that we are using to date the chain but there is no assay office, the maker is 'B.B.Ld' for Booth & Biggs Ltd of Northampton Street, Birmingham. The dog clip clasp is marked 'SS'.
The dog clip clasp which is attached to the one end is secure with a good spring to open & close. Fantastic graduation to the chain see pictures.
