Charming antique Victorian sterling silver name brooch pin usually given as a very special gift for baby at her christening baptism, in this case for a child called Clara. The brooch dates from the late Victorian period, as Queen Victorian died in early 1901.
The sterling silver mark can be found to the rear of the brooch, this is where the anchor mark for the Birmingham assay office is visible along with the date letter 'Z' for the year 1899. There is a makers mark but this mark is rubbed & can no longer be read. The brooch is in good order with a good C clasp & working secure pin.
Size 4.2 x 1.4 cm or 1.7 x 0.5 inches.
Weight 2.3 grams or 1.4 penny weight.
