This is a delightful Victorian hunting jug with an gilt inscription to the front below the spout which says 'Alfred Beaumont.Esq. Parkton Grove, Honley Yorkshire 1870'. The jug may have been made slightly later and then inscribed but is most certainly Victorian. One side has a painting of a huntsman shooting a bird and a spaniel dog running in the countryside. The other side has a painting of the hunters bag with a rabbit and his other accoutrements, surrounded by leaves. It has an ornate spout and handle and the jug has a white ground with gilt decoration.
It is in good antique condition, there are no chips or cracks although at the top of the handle there appears to be a historic filling of a space, approximately a cm square. There is some gilt loss in various places, please view photos to see for yourself.
