Simply wonderful antique parure set containing a necklace, dangling pendant earrings of which the drops separate and can be worn as a pendant dating from the Georgian period. Made from 18ct Austrian yellow gold, marked to the clasp, and set with 12 individually carved carnelian cameo's depicting birds, owls, fan tail doves, peacock, turkeys, rabbits, hares, dogs, camel to name a few. Good secure tongue and box clasp to the necklace, the central section of the necklace has a hook to the rear meaning the earring pendant could be added also to the necklace. The earrings are split into 3 sections and could be worn long or just the top drop, all connect with hooks to the rear. Simply wonderful detailing to all sections please see the pictures. The cameo's could be older than stated, possibly even Roman. Truly wonderful.
