A fantastic long beaded necklace of graduating jadeite beads. Jadeite is the most desirable and valuable variety of the two minerals known as jade. Jadeite is predominately from Burma and the less valuable nephrite is mostly mined China. We think the necklace dates from around the 1930s. The beads are a gorgeous spearmint green colour and fastened with a barrel clasp.
