This is a reprint from 1886 of a classic local text by General Pitt Rivers entitled "Anecdotes respecting Cranbourn Chase, with a very concise account of it, together with the rural amusement it afforded our ancestors in the days of yore'. First published in 1818 it contains description and reminiscences of this landscape near Salisbury in Wiltshire.
It is offered in good original condition. One page has a small tear repaired by tape and some bumping to the edges and slight discolouration overall.
