Aesthetic Period Relief Moulded Jug by TJ & J Meyer antique c1870
This lovely jug was made by the firm of TJ & J Meyer and dates to around the 1870s. Very much in the Aesthetic style that was popular at the time it is decorated in deep relief moulding of an allegorical story of a couple set within the West Indies or similar. The overall form and colouring is reminiscent of works by Minton at the time and has a lot of detail in the jug.
It bears the makers and registration kite marks to the underside.
