9k Gold Double Albert Watch Chain Moving T Bar Pendant Antique English 1890 Victorian Hallmark.
Fantastic quality to this 9ct rose gold double albert watch chain with a moving T bar pendant which is long enough to be converted into a chain necklace & has English gold hallmarks for the late Victorian period. During this time every well dressed gentleman would wear a watch chain in his waistcoat or overcoat.
The simple gold marks to the links are well defined, they read '9 .375'. Approx 23.7 cm or 9.3 inches along the chain from the dog clip clasp end you find the full English gold hallmark, the lion head mark for the London assay office along with the date letter 'P' for the year 1890. There is also a makers mark but this is a little rubbed, the visible letters are 'E.S'. The moving T bar pendant fob is also marked with a makers mark 'J.E.S', I believe this to be the same maker as the chain. The T bar & dog clip clasp are marked '9 .375', the bolt ring clasp is also marked but this is rubbed & cant be read clearly.
To the one end of the chain is a dog clip clasp & to the other a 1.2 cm diameter bolt ring clasp, both are secure with good springs. The T bar pendant is attached to a large link, which also has a small chain allowing a pendant fob also to be attached, which moves freely along the whole chain.
