9k Gold Double Albert Graduating Watch Chain Antique Edwardian English Chester Hallmark.
Dating from a time when every well dress gentleman would wear a watch chain, this is a great example in 9ct rose gold from the very collectable assay office of Chester dating from the Edwardian era. Today these chains can be converted into a necklace & this watch chain is indeed long enough to be worn around the neck in this way.
The links of the chain, both dog clip clasps & the T bar are all marked '9 .375' for 9ct gold, some of these marks are rubbed. The full hallmark can be found to the largest width link on the one side, this is where you see the shield mark for the Chester assay office along with the date letter for the year 1915. Both dog clip clasps are secure with good springs. Good graduation to the chains, the chains are the same length but 1 link connecting the dog clips is slightly larger see pictures. There is also some solder to a few links, this is only visible on close inspection see pictures, it does not detract from the chain & I would be very happy to own & wear. As stated above would make a great chain necklace.
