18k Yellow Gold & Ruby Scarab Beetle Egyptian Revival Brooch Vintage c. 1920.

This 18k Gold Scarab Beetle brooch has Ruby eyes (one ruby missing) and dates to around 1920.  This is known as the Egyptian Revival period where Egyptian imagery and motifs were popular in jewellery, design and architecture as well as other areas.  This interest in Egypt was sparked by the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922 by Archaeologist Howard Carter.

In good vintage condition this brooch is 18k gold tested not marked and there is one Ruby 'Eye' missing, see photos.

Height 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches, Width 4.5 cm or 1.77 inches, Depth 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.

Weight: 3.9 grams or 2.5 penny weight
