A wonderful 19th century telescope and case by Italian born Negretti and Zambra (active 1850 – c. 1999). Negretti and Zambra became a company which produced scientific (philosophical) and optical instruments and also operated a photographic studio based in London, England. Henry Negretti (1818–1879) and Joseph Zambra (1822–1897) founded the the company in 1850 which was appointed opticians and scientific instrument makers to Her Majesty Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and King Edward VII, the Royal Observatory and the British Admiralty. Offered in fair condition wear and tear to leather on telescope but case in good condition.

Dimensions telescope closed 25 cm or 10 inches, stretched out 74 cm or 29 inches, diameter 5 cm or 2 inches, case length 26 cm or 10.5 inches.
