A stunning planished Sterling Silver dish by highly collectable silversmith Omar Ramsden. This dish with thistle motif is fully hallmarked London 1925 and Omar Ramsden, see pictures. This lovely piece is initialed CCK for Claude Colin Kitt, born in Dartmouth Devon in 1898. Claude joined the Royal Navy in 1915 and served on HMS Hood throughout World War One. On 1 October 1938 he was commissioned as a gunnery officer and in 1942 posted to HMS Defiance III, a torpedo training establishment. In 1952 he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and in the birthday honours list the same year awarded the MBE. Claude passed away in 1976. In excellent used condition.
