Intaglio Roman Centurion Hematite 9k Gold Signet Ring Vintage English c1970.



Fantastic intaglio signet ring dating from the 1970's depicting a Roman Centurion in hematite set in 9ct yellow gold. Hematite's popularity in jewelry rose in England during the Victorian era, due to its use in mourning jewelry & is still popular today in intagalio's.
The partial English hallmark can be found to the inside of the band, this is where you see an anchor for the Birmingham assay office but there is no date letter. The makers mark can also be seen here, this mark reads 'GA'. Good detailing to the intaglio please see the pictures.
