Stepney Football League Enamel Fob Sterling Silver Watch Chain Vintage English Art Deco c1920.



Traditionally worn by a well dressed gentleman to hang his pocket watch from his jacket or waistcoat, this is a fantastic graduating albert watch chain in sterling silver dating from the Art Deco period. Hung from the one end is an enamel pendant fob, Stepney & District Football League which is inscribed to the rear 1924-25.
The links of the chain are marked with the silver lion, however many of these marks are rubbed, there is no dating hallmark to the chain. To the one end is a dog clip clasp as well as a T bar pendant, neither of which are marked & due to the slight colour difference may be nickle silver & are being sold as such. The dog clip is secure with a good spring but is misshapen please see the pictures.
To the rear of the fob you find an English hallmark along with the maker ' Thomas Fattorini' of Birmingham. The fob is hallmarked for the Birmingham assay office with the date letter for the year 1924. The enamel to the front is in good order please see the pictures.
