Charming antique stipple engraving c1825-1835 print by Robert Cabell Roffe & published by John Limbird in a red walnut frame. Marked 'R Roffe sc' immediately below the sitter.
Marked below the picture is the name of the sitter, Felicia Dorothea Hemans, the English poet. Born in Liverpool, England in 1793, but spent most of her youth in North Wales & though herself to be Welsh by adoption, refering Wales to be "land of my childhood, my home and my dead". In later life she lived in Dublin, Ireland.
Charming quality, the frame is in good order, please see the pictures. The rear is lifted to the one corner, please see the pictures, there is a hanger to the rear.
